Elevate Giving: Prospect Smarter Using Data You Already Have With Machine Learning | 16 November 2023

Presenters: John Batistich and Penny Richards Fowler

All schools hold engagement data that identify who the people are in the community who really care about the school, but because that data is held in a separate system which requires manual copying, it’s very rare that schools use this data in any meaningful way.

During this webinar we’ll show you how schools have used machine learning and engagement data to find their next donor, in some cases they’re able to find non-donors statistically more likely to give than people who already told the school they wanted to donate.

Excellence Series Webinar 4: Geelong Grammar School and Scotch Oakburn College | 4 May 2023

Presenters: Helen Beasley and Nicole Willcox Facilitator: Lincoln Size

Geelong Grammar raised an incredible $1.25M from 647 generous donors, all achieved despite lockdowns and significant staff changes. The judges were particularly impressed by Geelong’s videos which supported the campaign in an engaging and highly strategic manner and the establishment of a skills based Giving Day working party which ensured such a huge success.

For the team at Scotch Oakburn, the objective was to “change lives through education” by raising funds to support a new, fully funded scholarship in 2022, enabling four Year 11 students to enrol at Scotch Oakburn to complete Years 11 and 12.

They planned their first ever Giving Day and together with 38 volunteers made over 1,200 phone calls to Collegians and parents to raise $503,432.40. The analysis of data following the campaign is of particular value to future appeals and for a school not steeped in philanthropy, Scotch Oakburn achieved an exceptional outcome.
