Notes from the School Nurse: The immunisation records for enrolment are registered into Synergetic, more specifically Prep and ELC enrolments. From here we can generate a Crystal report on immunisations. We would notify the community and advise all students who are NOT immunised to remain home in the event of an outbreak of notifiable communicable disease (measles, diphtheria, meningococcal, polio etc – there are of course many).
The diagnosing GP would be required to notify the Dept of Health, then we would hear from the DH services directly to advise of a suspected outbreak.
Our School Nurse has agreed that staying on top of the data is arduous, and they are looking at ways to streamline this in the future.
