So you just hold a copy for immunisation purposes but not electronically listed individual immunisations for use if a particular outbreak occurs?
My concern for my records is that under the Public health act it says that if a student is not vaccinated against a notifiable disease then we must advise the family they can not attend until the outbreak is declared over. Currently we hold the immunisation statements for our students and I record if they are ‘up to date’ or ‘not up to date’ or ‘stat dec’ for those that object. But the individual vaccines for particular diseases are not electronically recorded. Therefore making it difficult to simply notify just the families that did not vaccinate against Chickenpox (varicela) for example.
As we are a large school it would be quite a task to record in such detail. I just wondered how it was managed by others. Thank you for your insight.
