Hi Mike, our school’s privacy policy includes a section regarding the disclosure of personal information collected by the school, which includes the statement: Personal information may be disclosed to government agencies, other parents, other schools, recipients of school publications, visiting teachers, counsellors and coaches, our services providers, agents, contractors, business partners, related entities and other recipients from time to time, if the individual would reasonably expect the personal information to be disclosed in that manner.
If a parent has registered to attend an event that is being coordinated by a parent-led group, the thinking is that the person would reasonably expect that their registration details would be disclosed to that group.
I’m not sure you’d have much luck petitioning organisations like Trybooking to change their processes, so it may be that the school will need to update their policies to accommodate.
