Thank you all for your valuable insights, I particularly appreciate the emphasis on educating parents on the purposes of their permission as well as context of application, clear and warm communication from principal, explaining what families and students may potentially miss out from should they not opt-in (don’t want them to feel excluded). Including a collage of warm and friendly photos of the school community into the email might be apt.
