Every year, we reach out to all our families and give them the opportunity to exclude their children from any school media. We have implemented an efficient process to achieve this. In our communication, we include a form that parents can complete and return to us if they wish to opt-out. Additionally, we consistently remind parents about this option through email and weekly sub-school newsletters (this happens for about 3 weeks). Our current exclusion list is quite small, with only two students this year, and historically we have never had more than five students at any given time.
While our current method has proven to be effective, we are also exploring the use of facial recognition technology for tagging students in photos. This would then be tagged in their Schoolbox profile and keep a historical record for them and their families.
