Madeleine West
Madeleine West is an actress, author, and advocate focused on the protection and well-being of children. Her early life was challenging, marked by abuse and economic hardship, which fostered her resilience and determination. Despite early obstacles, she excelled academically and was accepted into law school, later realising that creating change extends beyond the courtroom to everyday life.
With over 35 years in the entertainment industry, Madeleine is best known for her iconic role as Dee Bliss on Neighbours, where she gained widespread recognition and earned multiple award nominations. Alongside her acting career, Madeleine is deeply committed to environmentalism, working with ReForest Now to regenerate rainforests in Australia and Indonesia.
Madeleine’s advocacy work is driven by her personal experiences, including surviving childhood sexual abuse, which has fuelled her commitment to supporting victims and raising awareness about exploitation and children’s rights. She has worked with organisations like IFYS and PROJECT PARADIGM, is the principal ambassador for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, lobbyist for legislative change, and uses her platform to educate others on predatory behaviour. As a mother to seven children, her work aims to create a safer and more just world for future generations.
