Hi,
We’re in the process of introducing Pixevity to manage consent categories for our 2,500+ students. The use of biometrics has necessitated the revision of our data collection policy as it’s categorised as ‘sensitive information’. We’ve communicated this to parents as just one of the ways in which we are are actively seeking to address the challenge of AI misuse and deep fakes. I believe that as part of our duty of care, we have a responsibility to ensure that our parents are aware of the risk when providing consent. We have also made the decision to seek explicit consent to use facial recognition technology to assist with this process.
