Late reply here – still finding my way around these forums!
We have tried something new this year; two new events on our calendar to coincide with Mother’s & Father’s Days. Both are held at external venues outside of school hours, with the aim of building community amongst our parent body:
Tickets go on sale as an optional gift idea for Mother’s/Father’s Days
1. Mothers & Carers Dinner – held at a local reception, a sit down 2 course meal for Mums & Carers. Seated by year level groups, a bit of fun and opportunity to dress up. Speakers interwoven through the program: a Mum shared her cancer story, head of parent committee shared what she does, and a devotion on Motherhood from our Community Relations Manager. A little trivia and games thrown in for fun. Was an excellent night! Great numbers in attendance (130 on a Monday night), positive feedback received, definitely on calendar again for 2027.
2. Dads & Kids Bowling Blitz – booked out a local bowling alley for Saturday afternoon. Dads reserving preferred bowling time, we will group them into teams with other families. Drinks will be avaialable in the lounge with Nacho Station and catch ups. Great booking response so far.
