Apologies to bug you again!! I have a question about the parent lounge access etc. This might be more specifically TASS than Synergetic, but I’ll ask anyway. If anyone else has some ideas, I’d be happy to hear them.
I will add the Rotary homestay parents as mother and father and as they will change throughout the year, will update those fields. BUT two of the host families that I know of, are current families of the College.
Thinking from the parent perspective – Setting them up with their own parent record and host family as the mother/father – will give a separate login for the host family to access the student information. The host student won’t appear on their family record. For example, our incoming student is staying with one of our current families for 3-4 months and will then be moving to stay with us. Our College parent lounge and Connect logins are still connected to family code, rather than email and single sign on! I can barely remember my own family code and login for my own children, let alone having to remember another one for our exchange guest! (I assume the first host family would be the same.)
Given most of your Rotary hosts are likely existing SCOTS families, I’m wondering whether a split family set up could work?
– Biological parents remain the true Mother/Father.
– Host parents linked as the second family/guardians.
– Host parents receive Parent Lounge access.
– Rotary student appears alongside host parents’ own children in Parent Lounge.
– Rotary invoicing remains separate.
I guess it would mean separating the split family and reattaching the new family each time he moved family?
I hope some of this makes sense to someone.
