We use Microsoft Sway and then send that to our families via email every second Monday during term time. We only have one Marketing person for the whole college (P-12 1200 students), so it falls under that role (me).
Sway was chosen because it’s something we already have access to, and it’s also very simple to use.
We include a short piece from the Principal and from our Dean of Faith (head pastoral role) each edition, then rotate between other leadership staff members for a “Learning Across the Campus” segment. We also include any general notices, advertise upcoming college events, and share some reflections from recent activities and events. Most of these reflections are the same as what is on socials, so I would love to leave them out!
Readership is very low as people already receive so many emails as it is. There is just so much clutter between emails, social media, Schoolbox platforms etc that I feel like parents are so flooded with comms.
I really think it is a lot of (my) time spent creating it and sending it out for not a lot of benefit, and would love for it to be much less frequent – just trying to get others on board with this!
All the best!
