Great question. We don’t have an alumni Facebook page; instead, we use a Facebook group and direct content to the main school page.
I do think there’s value in consolidating with the College page—particularly if there’s overlap in audiences or content, or if the alumni page is growing more slowly (how long has the page existed?).
Have you had a chance to look at how many of your alumni are already following the main school page?
We originally had a separate alumni Facebook page, but we closed it in favour of a group (which is less public), and it’s worked much better for us in terms of engagement.
