Hi Everyone,
In recent years (post Covid) we have tried a new approach and stopped running the reunions at school but instead we provide an Alumni ‘Moment’ at our annual Twilight Open evening. Our part-time archivist pulls together a display of nostalic memorabilia, slides and videos that correlates with the 10, 20, 30 etc anniversary years. This is open to the visiting public on the night but we also invite our alumni to come along as well. If they wish to see the campus they can book a school tour running on the night (same process as for prospective families). They can get their photo taken with a selfie frame, sign a visitors book, meet up with friends in the Alumni space, plus they have the bonus of being able to enjoy all the other activites and food going on as part of the open night. It does not provide them with an exclusive alumni event but we dont have the resources to provide that. We figure instead that if we dovetailed off the back of open night it gave us a means of engaging with these alumni years every 12 months. It is gaining traction as we improve our communications and promotions through the right channels.
