Your challenges are not unusual!
The reunion model we have landed on works well for us.
We encourage 50 (in our case), 40, 30, 25 and 20-year reunions to visit the College for a 2-hour event which includes a BBQ, cold beverages and a campus tour. The BBQ is a “Build your own Burger” style and I get volunteers to cook burgers/clean up and it is self-serve.
We charge $20pp to cover food costs as drinks are complimentary. Payment is made via a Humanitix booking RSVP link
Following the BBQ, group photos etc and campus tour the reunion continues at a nearby hotel or brewery venue which has been prebooked.
We only want the reunion at the school for a maximum of 2 hours then they go off site to continue the catch up.
For the younger alums in the 15, 10 and 5-year reunions they are happy not to come to the school and organise a venue themselves which we help to promote.
