We tend to take photos on the school camera for day-to-day content, but generally engage a professional when we don’t feel our skills will cut it! This is usually for events with challenging lighting conditions (e.g. nighttime events, the school musical, our annual Speech Night celebration) or events where it would be helpful to have a long zoom lens. This usually equates to 4 or 5 events per year.
We’ve invested quite a lot of time into improving our photography skills for those day-to-day photos, and we bought a better camera (a Sony A7 IV) which is really helpful as it does a lot of the work for us!
