Hi Stephen, we’ve been using schoolbench for around 5 years and have not overcome the problems you face, in fact, because the system has been so flawed, people avoid using it and we don’t get the photos we need. We can’t be everywhere, so we do need staff to engage with the process.
The tag system that school bench uses assumes we search for photos like an agency would or hero shot, outside etc… schools are based around a series of specific events and therefore, we found this system just wasn’t viable. SB didn’t start like this, it started more events based, but moved this way which made our older photos and taxonomy very hard to find. I’m exploring geosnapshot and pixivity atm…
I think the photo management struggle is one of our most irritating tasks!!!
