Hi Abbey, having come from a School Bench school and in my current school where we’ve implemented Pixevity – do not use Pixevity! I’ve collaborated with our AV Officer on the implementation and we’re really struggling with staff learning to use it and the actual photo management side of it. Ultimately, our Executive Team chose Pixevity over School Bench, and whilst they offer very similar things, the UX of School Bench is definitely better than Pixevity (it’s also quite a bit cheaper depending on your storage requirements).
In terms of photo management, I’m sure every school is different. I find it works best when it’s the responsibility of whoever uses the photos i.e. your social media and/or marketing manager, as well as an AV Officer or IT Team. It also depends on the purpose of the program. For us, it’s about the facial recognition and consent system rather than the storage/photo management side – really consider your purpose for the program when deciding between the two.
