I have been involved with a “50 On The Field” for a 50th Jubilee at a NZ state secondary school. It was a team effort including the Property Manager, the Maths Department, student leaders and our events team.
The Maths Department worked out how big the 5 and the 0 had to be in order to be filled by 2000 humans (!), the Property Manager marked out the outlines, the student leaders organised the 2000 humans and the event team co-ordinated all essential components, photography & comms.
The photography was taken by a drone for close-ups, and a helicopter as well which enabled us to include key geographic landmarks that the school identifies with.
The huge 50 on the field was “filled in” with students, staff and members of the school’s wider community of alumni, Board members and parents. A true community event that concluded with a morning tea.
We planned for a “legacy image” and were thrilled with the result.
