At my previous school we would send a MS forms link for all parents to complete a form prior to the interviews for our Year 7 intake. This provided up to date info on the child, their interests and any learning needs, and additionally provided an update on the family structure, which may have changed since the original application. I feel that it streamlined the interview for the interviewer, and helped use the time more effectively. It also made the child feel more comfortable, as the interviewer was often able to connect by chatting about things of interest to the child. We did not do this for senior applications.
