Hi Kylie, Yes this is me! I do brand/marketing/social/alumni/collateral development and creation/events/website/photography/story telling etc. My role began at 15 hours/week and then went up to 18 and now sits at 20hrs but that was a hard sell to get there. I have also been asked to add International students to the list this year. I absolutely feel you here regarding people not understanding the amount of work that goes into each task. For me, software like Canva has been a big help – Canva for Education is free for schools, you just have to apply and it has meant I can create a suite of collateral, brand colours, logos and guidelines in a space where teachers are creating their things. I use templates for ideas to then create my own and try to streamline as much as possible which requires a lot of work at the start but pays off and makes everything faster in the long run. Perhaps a conversation is required where you discuss with your principal/business manager what are the school’s marketing priorities or goals and work to that or ensure they know if they want you to focus on one thing then something else is going to be pushed back.
