We’ve produced small A5 black & white colouring/activity books (low cost to print) with a small packet of eco-friendly pencils. This works really well for the littlies, and a funky mop-top pen for older children. For thank you gifts for guest speakers etc, we have a couple of options, depending on whether it is a volunteer or paid guest speaker. Notebook and pen sets are always handy. For our long-term volunteers who retire/’graduate’, we have a more upmarket gift set (insulated cup and bottle, good quality, well packaged). We gifted staff a branded golf umbrella a few years ago, and that was very well received. For kiddies, we do eco-friendly pinwheels (not plastic) that have become a staple, and a surprising number of older children (teens) are happy to grab one too. We have some issues with the quality of some tote bags recently, and haven’t produced replacements, and honestly, they haven’t been missed at all.
