PLC recently created a fifty-metre long timeline of its 150-year history on the wall of an internal corridor. Conceived as an anniversary project, it has been so popular with students, staff and the school community it has now been retained as a permanent fixture. Students enjoy the curious details about the school’s past; alumnae love picking out familiar faces, events and uniforms and it appeals to prospective families at evidence of our experience and longevity. Our heritage curator whittled down 150 years of history into some key dates and events and then sifted through thousands of photos to find those that were most evocative of a particular era. She worked closely with a graphic designer who had experience in advertising and museums and so could navigate the complexities of the space (wall fixtures & irregularities, competing décor) and define how much content would work on the walls.
