Hi all, some great responses, thanks for the insights!
We’re similar on many of these levels. I am the main receiver/coordinator/creator/editor/publisher of the news and it takes a bit of chasing to get all the content and suitable photos. We have approx 1,700 students across K- Year 12 and have the following sections: From the Principal, Key Dates, Whole College, ELC, Junior School, Senior School and Boarding.
We have transitioned from various formats/platforms including: a huge pdf sent out via Schoolbox, a super long email via MailChimp, hosting the newsletter on our website (not publicly visible via a unique url only shared with recipients via an email) and now via individual news pieces on Schoolbox which we tag parents according to the relevance of the piece and they receive a “digest” on news day (3 or 4 times per term on a Friday) containing all the news that relates to them. I find that it’s an evolving process until we get it right. As Louise mentioned, the hardest bit is achieving the “make them all read it” factor to make all our efforts worthwhile! ;)
