Hi Nic,
For us it can change dramatically depending on the year level! However; the 10 YO we find have no interest in returning to the school, so we organise them a private room at a bar in the city to just have a few drinks and finger food, only formalities being a group photo and someone from the year level to say ‘hi, thanks for coming’. We do try to get some of their teachers to come along as well, and advertise this in the invitations which seems to help.

We also find nostalgia hits stronger from 20YO, this is when we start having them back at the School for catch up and a tour.

Any reunion we find to be more successful if there is someone from the cohort on board to rally the troops. And in chatting to teachers, it can often just depend on how close the cohort was while at school as well!
