HI Karen – yes, this is the limitation for image permission on synergetic, which doesn’t suit us. We do not use this section for image use permission and parents don’t see it on the community portal. We have created an image permission form via the excursion module on the community portal – parents complete the form the same way that they do an excursion permission form. They only need to do it once during the child’s enrolment period at the school, unless we make any changes to our data collection (which we have recently done.) We set an expiry date for several years into the future so that parents can access and update the form anytime if they change their preferences, and I have a live SQL report that I refresh regularly to do a quick check to see if anyone has made any changes – they generally don’t. We extract a spreadsheet showing the students with restrictions and what those restrictions are and distribute that to those around the school who need the info. We send updates if we need to. It’s time consuming and detailed but we find that it’s the most accurate way to comply with parents’ choices.
