Hi Yvette,
We use Pixevety as well. There is a good FAQ on their platform that explains the use collection of biometric data for parents. I have drafted a very summarised version of that to include with our photo use permission form. It has not been verified legally. I also have the longer version from pixevety on hand for any parents wanting more information regarding platform security, pixevety’s accreditation etc. Here’s the para – again not legally verified but sharing in good faith.
Automated Face Recognition Technology (AFRT) is used by the College on our media management platform, Pixevety. The platform collects biometric data to compile a biometric template of a student for the sole purpose of applying the photo consent provided by parents/caregivers when publishing images. This biometric data is not used outside of the Pixevety platform and access to this platform is restricted.
thanks
Cath
