I am a team of one in the context of Marketing & Communications (R-12 / >700 students / 530 families).
We conducted a survey earlier in the year that flagged the high volume of comms families were receiving from all and sundry, so I am actively in the process of working with leadership on streamlining communication channels and revising our policies/structure. So far, it has been proposed that only >3 people on staff send outbound comms (i.e. the Principal’s PA = Principal Comms / Enrolments Registrar = Enrolments related / everything else = me, as Comms Coord). But we still have to do further work to implement an oversight structure and identify what warrants a (SEQTA) Direqt Message vs Portal Update vs SMS. It can feel a bit like herding cats when everyone considers their quick reminder/message to be essential/urgent enough to warrant a “quick SMS”, though!
