We would still pursue consent from the other parent even if contact is reportedly low. We’re also careful with information provided by just one parent who does not necessarily have a positive relationship with their former partner. Eg we recently had a parent request a “do not contact” on the other parent, which we could not comply with without appropriate documentation. We really do need legal documentation to only take one signature and would not enrol the student otherwise.
