Hi there
We decided to stop newsletters as the analytics showed very low engagement, perhaps 15%. And for the amount of work that goes into them, it was an easy decision. We have replaced this with an end-of-term video with our Principal. We support this with images of the various activities she was talking about.
I also surveyed parents prior to the move to see what they wanted. They found the videos to be a good source of information, they were sick of reading and reading… So, armed with this info, I am happy we made the transition, and we spend our time where it’s needed and adds value. I feel also that it gives our families an opportunity to see and hear her – it provides a connection to the person who is running the school.
I will add that we then share this with our future families, which also gives them a feel for College life and the Principal. They start to feel like they are part of the community, which they will be joining the following year or two. Waitlist families also receive this.
I am lucky that our Principal supported this move. Good luck.
