The Marketing & Brand Manager is responsible for leading and delivering a cohesive, strategic marketing and brand function across Ipswich Grammar School, IGS Early Learners, and the IGS Old Boys Association. The role strengthens brand reputation, increases market visibility, and supports sustainable enrolment growth through evidence‑based strategy, integrated campaigns, and disciplined governance.
The position provides strategic leadership in marketing planning and execution, ensuring initiatives are insight‑led, well-coordinated, and aligned with the School’s broader strategic priorities and values. It balances long‑term brand stewardship with practical, outcomes‑focused delivery across a complex, multi‑audience education environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and continuously refine a comprehensive whole‑of‑School marketing strategy and annual marketing plan aligned to strategic objectives and enrolment targets;
- Lead data analysis to identify trends, opportunities, risks and points of differentiation within the education and early learning sectors;
- Provide oversight of the Ipswich Grammar School brand, ensuring it is consistently and appropriately applied across all areas of the organisation;
- Ensure consistent messaging, tone of voice and visual identity across internal and external communication channels;
- Utilise data to inform practice and strategy, including demographics, trends, enrolment data, suburb analysis, transport data and reach;
- Monitor campaign performance, lead generation outcomes and return on investment to support continuous improvement;
- Provide regular, high‑quality reporting and insights to inform leadership decision‑making;
- Provide strategic leadership to support service development, growth and sustainability through clear articulation and communication of the School’s value proposition;
- Identify opportunities, develop strategic marketing and communications plans, and execute initiatives that support enrolment growth, reputation, and community engagement;
- Lead the development and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns that support enrolment growth, brand awareness, community engagement and alumni connection;
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve website optimisation, reach, design, functionality and user experience;
- Lead the planning and support with the delivery of a proactive and strategic social media presence for the School, IGS Early Learners and IGS Old Boys Association; and
- Ensure social media activity supports brand reputation, engagement and enrolment objectives.
The successful candidate may possess:
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications or a related discipline;
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a strategic marketing or brand leadership role;
- Demonstrated experience working at both a strategic and operational level within a complex organisation;
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy school environment;
- Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, including exceptional interpersonal skills; and
- High level of discretion, professionalism and commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times.
