Forum ParticipantWe use AI in Premiere to edit via transcription, which is very handy. We also occasionally generate graphics, but often don’t love the results so can feel like a waste of time compared to what our internal designer/illustrator can come up with that’s spot on for the job at hand. Most of our AI use is ChatGPT/Co-Pilot for refinement of content, suggestions, paraphrasing. Mostly for quick shaping of transcriptions or pulling nuggets for content stacking.
We have also tested AI photo enhancement services before, but the terms and conditions around the machine learning side meant you were essentially signing over permission for use. Essentially, images you uploaded could be used to influence outcomes for other generated images. It was fairly anti-privacy. So never got past the test phase as we wouldn’t want a community member’s face appearing on someone else’s generated image.

Forum ParticipantHi Lucie,
Yes, currently these collections sit within our admissions team. Typically paid most attention to the August census as it is significant for funding, and you’ve got to ensure more information is correct (NCCD, etc). As for how long it takes, the others are relatively straightforward pulls from your SIS and take less than a day to compile and submit (adding time for leadership to declare). While the August (Non-Government schools) one should be a fairly straightforward pull, too. My experience is that it’s all relative to how solid your attendance marking is and whether you’ve been audited before. You also have to submit special circumstances applications, which can take a little while to gather supporting evidence for. Likewise, this is all relative to how will your school documents interactions with students who may be school refusing, and holidays, etc. A handy move with this one is to communicate well in advance to staff so they can work with kids to make sure they’re present during the census reference period.
Would whoever handled them before in your school be able to give you an idea of the time commitment?

Forum ParticipantIn the past, we’ve done Keepcups, indoor plants, custom cookies, and Anniversary-branded gift packs with glassware.
We’ve also recently made branded downballs for an Open Day gift back for upper Primary. That seemed to go down pretty well. It also helps to have a College-branded official downball for our Termly staff downball tournament. I’m not saying that was the actual reason we did it though :)

Forum ParticipantSimilar to Simone, we’ve used Mailchimp for about 5 years now. Our newsletter is the body of the email, and our open rate hovers around 62%, with a wide audience including current and previous community members. It’s fortnightly, we break down top dates and key info without the need to click, and our click rate across our feature pieces and Principal Op Eds that link to our website average around 10-15% unique clicks, depending on the article. We also try to content stack everything, so we look at the larger picture of how a story is tracking across multiple platforms and whether we need to adjust our overall strategy. Hope that helps.

Forum ParticipantHi Danielle,
We recently upgraded from a 6D MkII to a Sony A7IV for a main photo camera and a Sony A7SIII rig for our video work. Lens packages include 24-105/f4 for run and gun general video, 16-35/f2.8 for interiors and facility shots, and a 70-200/f2.8 as our main event lens.
The idea was that the Sony A7IV would be our b-camera on significant interview shoots.
For $5k, I could recommend the A7IV with a 24-105/f4 (we’ve always found that extra range handy in a pinch) as a great hybrid photo/video package.
Hope that helps.
