We recently shared a donor survey via SurveyMonkey with all donors who have given since 2023. It proved to be very worthwhile and provided a range of valuable insights and data for us to consider going forward.
We began with a few standard questions, including contact details and their connection to the College. We also asked for permission to use this information to update our database and, with around 200 responses, it was a great opportunity to tidy and strengthen our records.
The survey explored areas including donor interests and motivations, the perceived impact of their gift, opportunities for engagement, bequests, future giving and other areas of interest. Each question included the option for respondents to provide additional comments and feedback, which is where we received some really valuable and personal insights. For some of our larger supporters who do not have email addresses, we shared a printed version by mail. The survey remained open for three weeks, which proved to be a suitable timeframe.
Overall, it was a very positive way to gather a large amount of useful data while also providing an opportunity to reconnect with our donors.
