We have transitioned to use of ELMO for our HR but prior to that would similarly have used a centralised documents for tracking process. One aspect we found challenging is ensuring that we close the loop of communication for all stakeholders – eg. when a line manager approves then payroll needs to know.
In our change of contract process our HR officer developed a form that outlines all the approval stages and they are all signed off/approved on the same document which when complete is put on the employee file. Happy to share that a copy of that.
