Hi Brigitte
Agree with above as the two most important pieces of info…mobile even more than email these days.
We have set up a bulk texting system to message our young alumni which works well. Short msgs re invites, or advise if important email to read etc.. We also set up a series of alumni reunions from the get-go, so if you decide to do so, suggest 1-year, 5-year and then 10 years onwards. let Y12s know this is what they can expect so they are aware..helps with their participation. Hype it up..cool to come back after 1 year to report on how things going etc.. whatever you want. It’s also a good way to seek/receive info when they register for these events/reunions..updated contact details, and also can ask about careers, study courses etc, where are they now? etc We use a database system (PTLY) to capture all that info and also have an alumni online community platform (via that same database system for them to sue to connect and find each other/mentor/sign up for events). It works for us. Definitely get all Y12’s to be on LinkedIn and add your school name to their profile under education (be sure your school is listed with LinkedIn if it’s new), then you can search them and share their stories they may post there later about their career successes. We also set up a Leavers “Class of 2025” FB page for each class each year and get everyone to sign up to that before leaving. We post specific messages to that class there, although that’s becoming less effective with our new Network site. Reach out if need anymore info. Cheers. Emma
