Hi Alice
We conduct individual interviews for the following year level intakes. In brackets are the approx. number of interviews conducted for each intake:-
– Preparatory (50-80 interviews)
– Year 5 (120-160 interviews)
– Year 7 (200-280 interviews)
Interviews are conducted in a block i.e. Yr 5 in Term 1, Year 7 in Term 2 etc. Each interview runs for 20 minutes and is conducted by a panel of two consisting of the Dean of Admissions (Registrar) at all, and one other member of staff, usually a member of middle leadership or College Leadership Team. Notes are taken, an Excel spreadsheet kept and this document is reviewed by the Dean of Admissions, Director of Development, the Principal and Director of Junior School (as appropriate) at the end of the interview process for each intake year. As the number of applicants usually outweighs the number of places available, the purpose of this review is to offer place according to how each candidate meets the enrolment criteria. The whole process, as you can see, is a full-time job for one person (Dean of Admissions). Best wishes, James
