WA Chapter: Right Person, Right Moment: Building Major Gifts in Education
As educational institutions increasingly look to philanthropy to drive transformational outcomes, many advancement teams are asking the same question: how do we move beyond community fundraising and annual giving to secure larger, more strategic gifts?
In this session, DGB Global will explore a practical approach to donor relationship management—often referred to as “moves management”—in a way that is simple, actionable and adaptable across schools, universities and other education settings. We’ll focus not just on what to do, but who should do it. At each stage of the donor journey, we’ll unpack how engaging the right people—institutional leaders, board members, academic and program leaders, alumni, volunteers and advancement staff—at the right time can unlock momentum and lead to more significant philanthropic investment.
We’ll also address the realities of advancement practice: engaging leadership with confidence, navigating internal dynamics, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and building shared ownership of major gift relationships across an institution.
