Professor Lauren Ball
Professor Lauren Ball is Chair of Community Health and Wellbeing at The University of Queensland and an internationally recognised health researcher and leader. Her work explores how people, communities and organisations can create the conditions for healthier lives, with a particular focus on turning evidence into practical action.
Lauren has published more than 200 scientific papers and writes widely about health and wellbeing for The Conversation, where she has been UQ’s most-read author for the past five years. She is also Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics and Vice President of Dietitians Australia. Lauren is particularly interested in cutting through the ever-growing volume of health advice to understand what actually helps people live well in the real world.
