QLD Chapter: Special Interest Group (SIG), AGM and Christmas Drinks 2026
The QLD Chapter Committee invite you to join them for the AGM and Special Interest Group (SIG) discussions, where you’ll share ideas, explore common challenges and strengthen professional connections.
Participants can choose from three topic streams:
People and Culture: Flexible Work Arrangements and the Right to Request: Are We Getting Consistency, Fairness and Compliance Right?
Facilitator: Ben Foley
Gain practical guidance to confidently manage flexible work requests while balancing employee needs, organisational requirements and legal obligations.
Alumni and Community Relations: Big Ideas, Small Steps, Lasting Connections
Facilitators: Helen Turner, David Miles & Sue McDonald
Recognising that age, interests, wellbeing and life experience shape how people connect, this session explores big ideas and practical initiatives that connect students, alumni and community across different generations.
Expect practical examples, lessons learned and plenty of inspiration for thinking differently about alumni engagement across three key areas:
- Mentoring & Wellbeing
- explore how mentoring can create valuable two-way connections
- see how wellbeing initiatives help build a stronger, more supportive alumni community
- Connecting Students & Alumni
- discover initiatives that create opportunities for intergenerational connection, both formal and informal
- Meaningful Engagement with Older Alumni
- learn ways to engage older alumni by providing meaningful opportunities to reconnect, share their experiences and contribute to the community
Outcome: From simple initiatives to strategic approaches, leave with practical ideas and real-world examples to turn simple ideas into meaningful relationships and strengthen alumni engagement across generations.
MarComms and Admissions: Enrolment pipeline resilience: Forecasting, Modelling and Retention
Facilitators: Brady Downes, Beth Kitson, Claire Henkey & Vanessa Saxby
With more volatility in the market, schools must:
• Use demographic and CRM data to model future enrolments
• Strengthen retention strategies (critical in Years 7–10)
• Prevent ‘melt’ between offer and commencement
• Align marketing, admissions and executive decisions
Outcome: Predictable, stable enrolment numbers despite external pressures.

Venue: Murrayfield Room, Ballymore Stadium, 91 Clyde Rd, Herston QLD 4006
Parking: Street parking is available on Clyde Road or on Butterfield Street, which surround the stadium and the respective playing fields. Once parked, walk down John Isley Drive toward the roundabout and the National Rugby Training Centre is directly ahead of you. The entry to the function spaces is down the left-hand side of the building, once in the foyer you will be directed to your designated room. Limited parking is also available off John Isley Drive (turning right at the Koala) but is subject to availability and on a first in first served basis.
There is additional parking available at the end of Clyde Road (last driveway on the right near the blue shed) that your guests can utilise as well should the other parking location be full.

AGM, SIG & Christmas Drinks – $50.00+gst for Members
SIG & Christmas Drinks – $75.00+gst for Non-Members
Cost includes SIG/PD, canapes and 1 drink. Additional drinks available at bar prices.
