Expressions of interest are being sought for a suitably qualified and passionate VIC/TAS member with extensive experience. Other desirable skills include experience on a Board and/or strategic governance experience.
About the position
We are seeking a new Board Director from our VIC/TAS Membership to work alongside the existing eight Directors. The candidate will further stengthen and contribute actively to a full range of Board governance matters.
Your Commitment
Our Board meets five times throughout the year, three face to face meetings and two online. Face to face Board meetings take place over a Friday afternoon and a full day on a Saturday with online meetings scheduled on a Friday. Other commitments include reading of Board papers and contribution to projects between meetings, attendance at the annual AGM, biennial International Conference, and other representation as required.
Board meetings are held in various locations across Australia, and potentially in New Zealand or Asia. Directors are appointed for a term of three years and may be relected up to a 9-year tenure.
Remuneration and Reimbursement
This is a voluntary position and is not remunerated.
Directors’ costs associated with approved travel, accommodation and out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed.

The Board is seeking to recruit Directors with:
• expertise in Advancement related fields
• a broad network and experience in driving business through strategy
• skills in establishing and retaining relationships between stakeholder partnerships
• an ability to be collaborative, make bold decisions and support the organisation to deepen its impact
• a capacity to engage in aspirational strategic thinking and to understand issues at a detailed and ‘big-picture’ level; and
• a passion for membership organisations, and for purpose advocacy.
