We interview up to 130 potential students each year and the Headmaster conducts all the interviews. They are all done individually, with the exception of siblings looking to enrol at the same time. Interviews are scheduled for 30-40 minutes but sometimes go up to an hour depending on how many questions the family have and how well they already know the school. We aim to get all families along to our Open Day or Headmaster’s Tour events, but if they can’t make those then I will take the family for a tour following their interview.
It is an insane time commitment for the Headmaster as the bulk of the interviews are done in Term 2 and the first few weeks of Term 3, so he is sometimes seeing 10-12 families per week. However, we believe the benefit of giving families face-to-face time with the Headmaster outweigh the negatives and result in positive conversion rates.
