We do this every year but it’s not part of any specific event, more just an end of year thing for PAL, but it could work if you tied it to an event and it’s the major prize.

We do ours in the way that purchasing tickets covers the cost of the prize and builds in a profit for PAL. The number of tickets is also limited so you have a higher chance of winning in a smaller pool, we have 350 tickets available in ours. If there any other prizes in the raffle then they would need to make sure that they are covering the cost of those prizes as well.

Ours usually sells out or comes close to selling out, but ours is a credit towards the fees as opposed to the whole amount. But it works. It’s a good prize, but it’s obviously only relevant to current parents. They would probably have more chance of making more money and being able to open it up to more people in the community, like alumni and past parents, with something like a car.
