Reporting to the Director of Business and Operations, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the implementation and management of risk and compliance frameworks, ensuring that the School operates in a safe, compliant, and well-governed environment. This role will be integral in maintaining and strengthening the School’s Child Safe Program, Work Health and Safety (WHS) processes, and broader risk management policies.

The Role Focuses On:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the School’s Risk Management, Compliance, and Child Safety frameworks, including Work Health & Safety (WHS) processes.
  • Design, maintain, and record staff compliance training in line with Anglican Schools Commission policies and legislation (e.g. Child Safety, first aid, fire safety, WH&S, and anti-bullying and harassment).
  • Coordinate and oversee internal and external WH&S audits and inspections, providing analysis and reporting.
  • Assist with school insurance placements, claims management, and other insurance matters.
  • Support School Executive and Senior Leadership in compliance, reporting, and policy development tasks.

To be successful in this opportunity, you will require:

  • Relevant qualifications in Risk Management, Compliance, Law, Business, or a related field.
  • Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (BSB41419)
  • Proven experience in risk management frameworks and incident reporting.
  • Knowledge of legislation, regulations, and best practices related to child safety, workplace health and safety, and risk management.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, audits, and policy reviews to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with senior leadership, staff, students, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Comply with established policies, routines, methods and procedures as required.
  • High level of professional standards and conduct.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith and Anglican ethos of the School.
