Advancement Conversations – Asia: Parent experience as a differentiator

Parent experience as a differentiator:
Beyond enrolment to long-term community building. In the international school market, reputation travels faster than any campaign. Parent experience doesn’t just shape satisfaction it determines whether families become passive observers or active promoters. Parents trust parents. They trust informal conversations, WhatsApp groups, playground chats and peer recommendations far more than polished marketing messages.

For technical marketers, this shows up clearly in Net Promoter Score (NPS) — a widely used measure of whether someone is likely to recommend an organisation to others. But the insight is simple and human:
– Parents are either advocates, passives, or detractors.
– Most schools focus on avoiding dissatisfaction.
– Very few actively design for advocacy.
Parent experience doesn’t just determine whether families feel positive or negative it determines whether they stay silent or speak up.

There is much to chat about. Come along and join in the conversation!
