The recent international conference that some of us were able to attend, was a real opportunity to reconnect, refresh and review. A number of members from our chapter also played a plethora of roles at the conference, including presenting, chairing sessions, being nominated for awards and vigorously participating on the dance floor at the Gala Dinner. I want to thank and recognise them and appreciate all those who were able to make it to Auckland. Two of our own deserve a level of special recognition for their contributions. The first is Karin Dunsford (pictured top left), Director of Advancement at St Andrews School who was publicly recognised as a Fellow of the organisation. Experienced and committed Educate Plus members are recognised for their contribution to the industry and the organisation by the awarding of a Fellowship. These special awards are made biennially and I would like you all to join me in congratulating Karin for her service to the advancement community in our state. The other was Kate Robertson (pictured below), Vice President of the SA/NT Chapter who very ably chaired the Fundraising in Schools pillar at the conference. Chairing a pillar is all about inviting, securing, and briefing the best possible speakers to share their expertise. Kate certainly did a commendable job in chairing that track. I am also pleased to share more widely the announcement I made at the conclusion of the Auckland conference: the next biennial International Conference will be held in Adelaide from 15-18 September 2020. This conference is unmissable. We secure phenomenal speakers from across Australia and around the world and make them available and accessible to our membership and the profession. In addition to welcoming many colleagues from interstate, we hope that the Adelaide location will help many in our Chapter more easily and more economically access the best we have to offer. Please pencil in the dates. I wish all of you the very best for the last quarter of the year.
