Forum ParticipantDoes anyone’s organisation no longer include a disclaimer in their email footer?
We are streamlining our email signature as part of our brand refresh, and wonder whether it must still be included. I think it does, particularly now that Privacy regulations have been tightened, but would love to know if anyone’s organisation has decided otherwise.
Our current one states:
This email and any files transmitted with it may be legally privileged and confidential. If you are not the intended recipient of this email, you must not disclose or use the information contained in it. If you have received this email in error, please notify us by return email and permanently delete the document. -

Forum ParticipantHi ALison,
I have a quick look at some emails I received from about 20 schools I’ve worked with and most of them include the disclaimer. (4 out of 5)

Forum ParticipantYes, very important to keep that the disclaimer on your emails. You could look at shortening text, but it might mean some simple legal advice required.

Forum ParticipantHi Alison, we do a bit of a hybrid. We have a link to the disclaimer in our auto signature. It saves space, looks pretty and our legal boffins tell us that we are still covered.
