Data entry – best practice

Hello all – quick survey on the method of data entry in your institution:

1. Is it centralised? ie one person responsible for all data entry across the institution?
OR
2. Is it split across many areas of responsibility?
3. If so, how many people are entrusted with data entry and who checks the accuracy of the data?

In an ideal world what is your preferred option? 1 or 2
