Forum ParticipantI am interested in hearing from anyone who has developed their own mentor program or is using an ‘off the shelf’ platform. We are developing quite a stable of interested alums who could be a terrific resource for current students or early career alums. We use many as ‘classroom experts’ and guest speakers, however, this seems very limiting when those events are faculty/subject based. After a year or so of concentrating on Alumni Development I’m finding the lists and matching is becoming a little unwieldy, so I would very much appreciate any comment, information or experience you are willing to share – in person or electronically.
Many thanks,
Liz Pellinkhof -

Forum ParticipantWe are planning our launch of mentoring on our ToucanTech software in next 12 months. It has a mentor database, drives Alumni to register to the database. People can search the database and match themselves with those on the database and initial contact from there.

Forum ParticipantHi Liz, I used to work for the University of Melbourne, which launched an Ask Alumni mentoring platform: https://mentoring.unimelb.edu.au/p/p10/pages/3275.
It’s run on a platform by a company called https://chronus.com/.
Good luck with your growing alumni program.

Forum ParticipantHere at Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview, we are starting up a mentoring program for our Alumni so I would be keen to hear how other Alumni Associations have managed their programs. At present, we are using Potentiality’s platform to register and gather the mentor information. This platform is designed to be self managing between the mentor and mentee but we are wanting to ensure the mentors are supported with resources by running workshops before they take an a mentee so we are not wanting the mentor/mentee to self match at this stage. Has anyone run a program like this and also has anyone run workshops for their mentors?
