Burgmann College is a residential college for Australian and International Students located in Canberra and affiliated with the Australian National University. Founded in 1971, Burgmann College offers enhanced academic support and an extraordinary diversity of experience with a uniquely egalitarian and collaborative culture. With around 378 undergraduate and postgraduate students in residence, the College community has a simple purpose – that everyone may achieve their highest possible potential, academically and personally.
The College is seeking to appoint an experienced leader to the role of Principal who, together with the Deputy Principal, management team and residential staff, will provide visible leadership in the day-to-day life of the College. Residing at the College, the Principal will take full responsibility for the financial and resource management of the College and will work closely with key Australian National University stakeholders, the College Council and Board of Management.
This highly visible position will require an individual with experience leading a residential academic community, preferably in a tertiary education setting. The successful candidate will have the skills to develop and maintain relationships beyond the current residential community and the credibility to represent the organisation externally at the highest level.
