The UTS Advancement Unit is recruiting for a Manager, Advancement Communications to play a key role in the development and execution of the Unit’s internal and external communication plans.
The UTS Advancement Unit is responsible for providing leadership and management of philanthropy and corporate partnerships on behalf of UTS.
The Manager, Advancement Communications will plan and deliver a print, online and social media communications strategy that supports the engagement of the unit with its key audiences: philanthropic donors, supporters, alumni, philanthropic trusts and foundations, friends of UTS and staff. This role will be a key point of contact regarding communications for the Advancement Unit and will liaise with key stakeholders across UTS to ensure clear and consistent messaging for the Advancement Unit.

• Proven leadership skills, managing and leading direct reports to achieve goals, deadlines and strategic objectives
• Demonstrated experience in communications practice within an advancement, university, fundraising or non-profit environment.
• Proven management skills, including the ability to meet competing deadlines and develop and manage budgets.
• Strong understanding and practice in social media and networks
• Demonstrated experience in the development of material for websites and print materials.
• Tertiary qualification with subjects in marketing and/or communication and/or relevant work experience.

Base Salary Range: $99,324 to $113,119 pa (HEW 8)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

You are required to address the following selection criteria in your submission in a separate document:
Demonstrated knowledge of the communications and engagement landscape and trends, including for higher education.
Demonstrated experience in delivering communication strategies for a broad range of audience segments, across multiple platforms, including direct marketing campaigns that inspire action, involvement and engagement.
Tertiary qualified in marketing or communications and at least five years relevant experience in the field of external relations, marketing or communications with a customer service-focused organisation.
Demonstrated experience in managing a team, including establishing work plans and ensuring the team is aware of all Unit priorities and key goals.
Five years of experience, preferably in the higher education sector (or a comparable organization), in the development and execution of communications strategies, ideally related to philanthropy and or alumni relations.
