The Role
The Head of Advancement is a key member of the School community who, in consultation with the Principal, is responsible for leading a comprehensive advancement program that underpins the Wilderness School Strategic Plan. This will be a 3 year contracted role.

To support the School in delivering innovations, this role cultivates relationships with donors, engages with the old scholar network and builds long term meaningful partnerships across corporates and the community. The successful candidate will:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate campaigns to generate and grow income and achieve outcomes
  • Provide expertise to enable growth and continually review and integrate best practice with a strong knowledge of trends/research in the Advancement sector
  • Identify, develop and maintain strong relationships with the Foundation Board, the School Senior Leadership Team, committees, volunteers, old scholars, corporates and community partners
  • Develop new strategic partnerships and build on existing partnerships
  • Develop fundraising strategies and lead engagement planning with supporters, old scholars and donors

About You
You will demonstrate:

  • A strong understanding of income streams such as trusts and foundations, major donors, individual giving and capital campaigns, together with alumni engagement
  • Demonstrated experience in the sector with a track record of delivering results
  • Exceptional communication skills, the ability to relate effectively and build highly effective relationships
  • Strategically minded, people focused and passionate about schools
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organisational skills, planning and analytical capabilities
  • Proven success developing and executing strategies and business plans, financial management and measuring performance
